Late in 2012 was when i decided to do something different with my life. Whilst on leave from my usual baking job, i needed something to keep me from getting bored, like i would need anything with three beautiful boys to run around after! That is when my Mum introduced me to Cake Pops.

Everyone who knows me knows i am an accomplished cook, from traditional pies and hot pots to cakes, puddings and anything yummy. I love to be in the kitchen, cooking and experimenting with different flavours and foods, savoury and sweet. My Mum knowing me very well, bought me a book all about Cake Pops and from that day i have been hooked.

Many days and weeks passed and i found myself amid clouds of icing sugar and layers chocolate, making taster samples for the ever trusted fire fighters of Blue Watch, Preston. Along with my husband, children, family and friends all amazed with the delights i made. Gaining in confidence i ventured out to hold stalls at local farmers markets and my scrumptious cake pops were a real hit with young and old alike.

Word quickly spread and i soon found myself making my cake pops for parties and occasions so that is when Polka Pops was born...
I am very lucky to have a beautiful farmhouse style kitchen that constantly smells of freshly baked cakes. I am sure if you visit Ribchester you will smell the lingering scent of melted chocolate and sweet candy that protrude the streets.

So join me on my exciting baking journey and you too will fall in love with cake pops, these cute moist balls of yumminess on a stick.
